C/2020 F3 NEOWISE

 

DESCRIPTION: This comet is a long period comet which will not be back around any time soon. It will not be back around the sun for at least another 4500 to 6800 years. This comet was discovered by a orbital telescope spacecraft on March 27th 2020, which was only about three and a half months before closest approach to the sun (July 3, 2020).

SCOPE: William Optics FLT132 5.2" F/7
CAMERA: ZWO ASI294MC Pro CMOS
EXPOSURE: 16x120sRGB, 32 minute total exposure.

NOTES: This was the best comet imaging attempt to date. The seeing condition at the time were very good, and the image sequence went well.
