
DESCRIPTION: The eastern veil nebula is part of a larger supernova remnent which includes several other tagets in this region which in called the Cygus Loop (such as the western nebula). The star that exploded was appox. 20 more massive then our sun and it exploded 10 to 20 thousand years ago. This region is been expanding over time and currently takes up 3 degrees of sky, or about 6 times the diameter of the full moon. This object is approx 2400 light years away.

EXPOSURE: 36x300sR, 36x300sG, 36x300sB, 9 hour total exposure.NOTES: This is a faily easy target in the summer/fail as it's high in the sky most of the night. I'll be imaging this again in narrow band soon.
